The most popular trek in the Annapurna region is Annapurna Base Camp Trek. To reach the base of Mt. Annapurna at 7,000 meters is rewarding in itself, with the mountain peaking at 8,091 meters. In a very short period of time, the Annapurna Base Camp Trekking trail takes you from a tropical to an alpine region and exposes visitors to various ethnic groups and breathtaking landscapes. Along the way, closeup views of Himalayas include Mt. Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiuchuli, Fishtail and many other peaks above 7000m.
The 13-day Annapurna Base Camp Trek starts from and ends in Kathmandu. The day after arriving in Kathmandu, guests can explore the UNESCO World Heritage Sites and then enjoy a day drive to the naturally beautiful Pokhara city. Passing through terraced field, waterfalls, traditional villages, forests of rhododendron and oak, travelers will finally reach the Machhapuchre Base Camp (3,700m) and then the Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m). The return trail offers mesmerizing views of various landscapes and Himalayas as well as a relaxing time in the Hot Spring at Jhinu Danda.
Upon arrival in the Kathmandu airport (TIA), you will be greeted by a representative from Nature Connection Treks and Tours at the arrival gate. You will be then transferred to the hotel. After the check in, you can either take a rest; hang around in the city as it all depends upon your interests. In the evening, we will organize a Welcome Dinner at an excellent traditional Nepalese Restaurant where you will enjoy a Nepalese cultural program as well as a fine meal. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Today we visit 3 UNESCO Cultural World Heritage Sites among 7 of the Kathmandu Valley. First we visit Kathmandu Durbar Square- palace of Malla and Shah King Dynasties, Kal Vhairav- deity of justice, living goddess Kumari and if lucky we get blessed by her, visit Kasthamandap Temple- built by single tree, Maru Ganesh- one of the four main Ganesh Temples without pinnacle on the roof and many more legendary temples. After then we proceed towards Swayambhunath Stupa- the oldest stupa more than 2500 years old, situated on the hillock from where we can see the 360 degree bird eyes view of Kathmandu Valley. We visit peace pond, the main stupa, Harati Temple, Shantipur, Pratap Malla Turm, Agnipura, Nagpura, different monasteries, chortons and temples. Finally, we drive towards Patan Durbar Square- it is the oldest city in Kathmandu Valley full of art and architecture. We visit Krishna Temple- made up of a single stone in Shikhara style, medieval palace and courtyards, Mahabihar, Maha Baudha Temple and many more temples and monuments. Then we drive back to the hotel. Late afternoon, we organize trek briefing session where we will meet our trek guide and other crew members. Today we are going towards naturally beautiful city Pokhara, destination of adventurous activities and gateway of trekking in Annapurna Region. After breakfast, we drive towards the tourist bus stand. After then our six hours pleasurable drive begins passing through beautiful landscapes along the Trishuli River and Marshyangdi River. On the way, our coach stops twice, one for breakfast and another for lunch. Upon arrival in Pokhara afternoon, check into the hotel and take a rest. Late afternoon we enjoy the boating on Fewa Lake and visit Barahi Temple. Evening is free on your own. Overnight in Pokhara.
Today is the beginning day of our trek. Early morning after breakfast we drive up to Nayapul and then start our trek. We walk gradually along the Modi Khola passing the check post of ACAP. After passing metal bridge, we take the right turn and walk along the Modi Khola towards Syauli Bazzar. Up to Syauli Bazzar the trail is gradual up and then we walk steep up through the stone steps passing beautiful small villages up to Ghandruk. Finally after about 6 hours walk we reach Ghandruk village also popular as a village of stone houses, inhabited by the Gurung people. We enjoy the stunning close up view of Mt. Annapurna South, Hiuchuli and Fishtail as well as acquaint ourselves with the simple but rich cultural traditions of the Gurung people.
After leisure breakfast, we start the trek. The trail weaves through the dense forest of Oak and rhododendron. First, we climb up for an hour and then steep descent to Kimron Khola. Then we again climb up to Taulung and then steep descend and horizontal walk for an hour. After then steep climb continues up to Chomrong. From Chomrong we can see the towering mighty peak of Annapurna South and Fishtail.
Today we walk along the Modi Khola and through the thick and dark rhododendron forest. After a leisurely breakfast, we leave Chomrong village crossing the suspension bridge and then steep climb to Sinuwa. From Sinuwa, further trail is gradual up through dense forest till Khuldighar. We then descend long and steep stone steps until we reach a Bamboo forest. Then crossing the bridge, we walk gradual up for about 2 hours and reach Dovan.
Today all the way is gradual up along the Modi Khola. We walk through the thick bamboo, oak and rhododendron forests passing the canyon. After Himalaya Hotel, we cross two small streams. There is also a possibility to see wildlife such as deer, snow leopard, pig and different kind of birds. Enjoying the peaceful nature, passing by Hinko Cave we finally reach in Deurali.
Today we reach the main destination of our trek, Annapurna Base Camp. We begin our trek climbing gently through a river bed of Bagar. In the route, we find ourselves surrounded by the giant snowcapped mountains. The strenuous hike to Machhapuchre Base Camp (MBC- 3700m) is neutralized by the spectacular view of Mt. Fishtail, Mt. Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna III and Gangapurna. From MBC the vegetation disappears. We hike for another 2 to 3 hours through a few huts alongside a moraine and enjoy the view of the close up vertical south face of Annapurna and reach Annapurna Base Camp. There is a 360 degrees panoramic view of Mt. Fishtail, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Hiuchuli and other peaks.
Early in the morning catch the magnificent sunrise view over the Himalayas. After breakfast, we descend back all the way to Bamboo passing MBC, Deurali and Dovan. Along the way the Himalayan views will fascinate us. Descending along the Modi Khola we pass through the forest.
Today’s trail is up and down. Initially, we make a steep ascent up to Kuldi Ghar and then a steep descent to Sinuwa and then to lower Chomorong. From there we again climb to Chomrong and then descent continuously to Jhinu Danda. Late afternoon we take a bath at the hot spring in Jhinu Danda.
After breakfast, we trek down through numerous villages of New Bridge, Kyumi Village, Kimche, Syauli Bazar and finally reach Nayapul. Our vehicle is awaiting us in Nayapul to transfer us to Pokhara. After a1-hour drive, we reach Pokhara. Relax and recharge yourself. Overnight in Pokhara.
After early breakfast drive towards Tourist Bus Park to catch a Tourist Coach to Kathmandu. After 6 hours leisure drive along the Marshyangdi River and Trishuli River; and enjoying the beautiful landscapes we reach in Kathmandu late afternoon. Transfer to hotel and relax. In the evening you can do last minute shopping in the Thamel Area. Late evening we celebrate the success of our trek with dinner together. Overnight in Kathmandu.
After breakfast you are free until departure time. A representative from Nature Connection will take you to the airport approximately 3 hours prior your scheduled flight for final departure.
